Alcoa of Australia and the Shire of Harvey have reaffirmed their longstanding relationship by entering into a new five-year partnership.
The collaboration, centred on enhancing and fostering the Harvey community, reflects the Shire’s commitment to provide a safe, accessible and connected community by working closely with local industry.
The agreement will see Alcoa provide financial support of around $118,000 per year for five years, with a primary focus on helping further develop the activities and programs at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre (HRCC).
Shire of Harvey Chief Executive Officer Annie Riordan expressed her deep gratitude for the recently signed partnership agreement.
“This partnership agreement is a significant milestone for our community, and we are incredibly grateful for Alcoa’s continued support,” Shire Chief Executive Officer said.
“The resources provided through this agreement will enable us to enhance the services and programs offered at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre, ensuring that our community continues to thrive.”
The Shire of Harvey Chief Executive Officer highlighted the longstanding relationship between the Shire and Alcoa, noting that the legacy of the partnership would bring lasting benefits to the Harvey Region for decades to come.
“This agreement between the Shire of Harvey and Alcoa will have fantastic benefits for our community,” Shire Chief Executive Officer said.
“The funding will support the HRCC’s growth in response to community needs and help maintain the high standard of services and vibrant cultural programs the Centre offers.”
Alcoa of Australia Manager of Community Relations, Tom Busher, emphasised the importance of the partnership in enhancing the local community.

“We are proud to work alongside the Shire of Harvey in supporting the dynamic programs and services at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre,” Mr Busher said.
The Shire of Harvey and Alcoa have an existing successful collaboration through the Alcoa Harvey Sustainability Fund, which supports a wide range of community development projects.
These projects have significantly contributed to the economic, social, recreational and environmental sustainability of the community.
