Arts and Culture in the Shire of Harvey has received a welcomed boost.

The Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre (HRCC) is thrilled to have been awarded $210,000 over three years in funding from the State Government’s Regional Arts Venues Support program (RAVS).

This generous grant is part of the ongoing commitment by the WA Government to support and enhance regional performing arts.

HRCC Manager David Marshall expressed immense gratitude for the funding, stating, "This financial support from the State Government is invaluable. It will allow us to expand our annual Performing Arts Program over the next three years (2024-2027) to enhance our offering of a diverse range of cultural and entertainment events for our community.”

The grant will be used to host a minimum of 15 performances annually, ensuring that residents of Harvey and surrounding areas have access to high-quality performing arts.

In recent years, the HRCC’s cultural activities and programming has seen significantly increasing attendance from 900 to over 6,000 patrons.

Shire of Harvey President Michelle Campbell also conveyed her appreciation, noting, "The support from the State Government is crucial in helping us maintain and grow the cultural fabric of our community. The HRCC plays a vital role in bringing people together, and this funding ensures that we can continue to offer a wide array of cultural experiences for all to enjoy."

The HRCC has been a hub for arts and culture in the region, consistently delivering exceptional programming and community engagement activities.

This latest funding boost follows previous successful grants, solidifying the Centre's reputation as a key player in the regional arts scene.
