On Monday, 11 September 2023, the HRCC celebrated 30 years in the community with members from the previous Management Committee, the HRCC Advisory Group, local dignitaries, as well as past and present staff and councillors from the Shire of Harvey and HRCC.
Enjoying some networking, a delicious meal and special musical performance, the evening provided a great opportunity for attendees to reflect on the memories and achievements of the past 30 years.
Attendees were also excited to mingle with Minister for Culture and the Arts; Sport and Recreation; International Education; Heritage, Hon. David Templeman MLA, who had declined an invitation to the Sandover Medal presentations to attend the 30 year celebrations.
Following emotional and heartwarming presentations, guest speaker Richard Aggiss AM shared some personal memories of his time growing up in Harvey, as well as some highlights from his decorated hockey career.
Mr Aggiss kindly presented the centre with an outstanding gift, his 1984 Los Angeles Olympic blazer.
To close out the evening, attendees were treated to a fantastic performance from the Philharmonic South West Orchestra.
The HRCC would like to thank all who attended on the evening to help celebrate this special milestone.
